Why the Alameda Sunset Waves Logo?

Walking around Alameda, I kept noticing how often I saw Santa Cruz hoodies. Santa Cruz is cool, and the logo is iconic, but I do not live there. Most of the good times my family has are right here in Alameda.

Santa Cruz still seemed to be winning the local-pride sweatshirt game. So I figured I’d try to distill some of my favorite Alameda moments into a logo of its own and see what we could do.
